Project Director, Theme Park

Location: Hong Kong

AECOM Leisure and Culture provides a wide range of economic and strategic planning, master planning, architectural, engineering and project management services to clients worldwide. We work primarily in entertainment and leisure, real estate, hospitality, tourism, mixed use, cultural facilities, and township planning.    Our portfolio of clients include many of the largest resort and theme park projects in Asia, such as Walt Disney Imagineering, Universal Creative, Village Roadshow, 20th Century Fox,  SeaWorld Parks, Merlin Entertainments Group, Luneng Group, Samsung Everland, Ocean Park, Evergrand, OCT Group and Haichang Group.

We currently have an exciting opportunity to be part of high caliber team of Program Management professionals leading the design and build of a USD billion plus theme park and resort complex in China. 

  • Holds primary responsibility for the managerial, business, and design management aspects of the Theme Park project.
  • Manages a diverse design and engineering team of professionals (AECOM and other consultants), to ensure design intent, IP brand approval, project schedule, project budget and operational standards are met.
  • Weekly reporting of milestone schedule and financial health of the project.
  • Manages the full life cycle of a project and ensures the project is completed successfully from beginning to end (i.e. planning and designing, execution, monitoring and controlling, and completion of the project).
  • Maintains and builds a positive client relationship with direct engagement with client’s senior leaders and project directors in a bilingual environment.
  • Identifies and commits appropriate company resources to accomplish project goals.
  • Manages AECOM and other consulting companies to achieve quality outcomes, financial performance, and client satisfaction.
  • Ensures all standards and requirements are met in the area of health and safety by reviewing, communicating and managing project health and safety plans so that project personnel, client and subcontractors are aware of risks and hazards, and accidents are prevented.
  • Mentors and develops program management staff, providing leadership and an environment which encourages teamwork, initiative and growth.


  • Degree in Business Administration, Architecture, Economics, Project Management or other related disciplines. Master Degree is highly preferred
  • 10 - 15 years relevant experience in location based entertainment implementation and project management
  • Experience in managing theme park design and construction programs
  • Strong team management, organization communication capabilities
  • Relevant experience in Ride, Show and Attraction development
  • Good proactive client-management skills
  • Ability to operate in multilingual environment.
  • Experience and prior implementation in China/ Asia market is preferred
  • Previous work experience in with local government authority and LDI office 
  • Experience with international IP brand location based entertainment is preferred
  • Excellent written and spoken English is a must
  • Chinese language skills a benefit
